Update from Baildon's District Councillors

Baildon CofE Primary School parking developments

Thank you to everybody who took the time to respond to our survey a few months ago regarding the problems with parking on Bartle Gill Drive and Bartle Gill View at school starting and finishing times.

We have been assured by the Council wardens and Police that this entrance to the school will be patrolled when resources permit, in addition to the main entrance off Coverdale Way.  We have also been assured by the school that they will monitor this entrance when they are able to.

The responses we received varied but the vast majority supported double yellow lines at the junction of Bartle Gill Drive and Bartle Gill View so this is what we have put forward to the Council's Highways department.  It is always a difficult balance to try to solve a problem without inconveniencing residents but it is felt that this will at least partially help.

If you see any examples of continuous obstructive parking (blocking access e.g. from driveways) please let us know with the registration number as the police can then contact the owner to advise and warn against further inconsiderate parking.

Please do not hesitate to contact any of us about this or on any other local issues of concern.

Yours sincerely
