We’re sure that many amongst you will have received the latest ‘Local Voice’ from Anna Dixon MP
The magazine sets out our MPs claimed commitments to the local area, but the question becomes, how much of this is true?
Transport - trams
The government had promised £2.1bn for the “mass transit system” but has now told West Yorkshire Combined Authority to make it clearer as to where the lines will actually run and to improve its business plan before any grant can be approved.
The tram project would only see two lines, one connecting Leeds city centre to Bradford city centre and another one from St James's Hospital in Leeds to the White Rose Centre.

Quieter aircraft
Jet2 plc has announced that to meet the future anticipated growth of its Leisure Travel Business and to refresh its existing aircraft fleet it has entered into an agreement with Airbus and has ordered 35 Airbus A320 neo aircraft.
Their first priority was to send their first new planes to Edinburgh Airport.

Their next priority will be to improve their aircraft at London Gatwick
Once the first 35 have been received Jet2 are hoping to buy another 36, but the second order has not yet been placed and no delivery timetable has been announced.
It would be lovely to think that Anna’s chat with Jet2 has put LBA high up the priority list, but somehow, we doubt it!!
