Launch of the Better Health for Women website

Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership have recently launched www.Betterhealthwomen.co.uk in conjunction with a Women’s Health Campaign, bringing together women, professionals, community groups and local leaders from across the Bradford District.

Councillors Felstead and Coates have been involved with the development of the website, especially the information on menopause, following issues raised by constituents which led them to raising a motion at full council in October 2023 entitled

“12.4 Providing a specialised and accessible menopause service in the Bradford District”

See: (Public Pack)Agenda Document for Council, 17/10/2023 16:00, page 17 item 12.4 for full detail.

Philip Davies, the former M.P. for Shipley, had also been consulted regarding these issues which he raised with management at the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. This led to significant funding for this website, which promotes and educates women on a variety of women’s health issues, please visit the website for further detail.

Councillors Felstead and Coates worked closely in conjunction with Helen Farmer, NHS Access to Care Director and her team, Dr Amy Tatham - Clinical Lead for Women's Health in Bradford NHS, and would like to express their thanks for allowing them the opportunity to work collaboratively on such an important project.

Whilst this is good news and a great start, Councillors Felstead and Coates are still pressing the NHS for a District based specialist menopause clinic like that in Leeds.
