Conservative Candidate Geoff Winnard intends to fight for Bingley on local and District fronts

Geoff Winnard, Conservative candidate for Bingley in the Bradford District Council election on 2 May 2019 has decided also seek re-election to Bingley Town Council.

Cllr Winnard was originally elected to the Town Council representing Gilstead ward when the council was first established in 2016. He is currently Chair of the Staffing Committee and a member of its Finance and General Purposes committee.

Geoff said;

“My work on Bingley Town Council, since my election in 2016, has given me a better understanding of the views and issues that matter most to residents of Bingley and our villages. Progress has been made to regenerate the town centre and improve the local environment to make Bingley an even better place to live. I am keen to continue this work with the town council, community and business groups to attract more businesses and visitors to our town. It is clear that we cannot rely on Labour-run Bradford Council alone to give Bingley a fair deal or to fund local improvements. Too often they prioritise funding on the inner city and neglect areas such as Bingley – we deserve much better.

If I am elected to both Bradford District Council and the Town Council, it will provide a real opportunity for me to fight for you on both fronts in Bingley and Bradford to address the local issues that are important to you, whilst continuing to ensure the voice of Bingley residents is heard loud and clear in Bradford City Hall.”
